At thirteen, I auditioned for ABC television, but I didn’t get called back. I had no clue how to prepare. Next came a role in a musical. This time I hired a professional coach but my nerves got the best of me in the audition. I had a dream to act but I didn’t have the tools to realize it.
So, I chose to direct. I got a Master’s Degree at Trinity Rep Conservatory in Directing and I taught acting. In LA, I directed my first film with The AFI’s Directing Workshop for Women. My next film won several awards and was shortlisted for the Academy Awards.
Then I became a mom and an entrepreneur creating Intentional Acting while directing a film, a pilot, and spec commercials.
I teach actors the necessary tools to tap into their creativity confidently. When my students focus on their intention – their character, emotions, and thoughts naturally follow. Perhaps that’s why I was named one of the “Best Acting Coaches in the United States”.
Intentional Acting students are in blockbuster movies like THE COBBLER and THE FIGHTER, on tv: BIG LITTLE LIES, BIZAARDVARK, AMERICAN HORROR STORY and dozens of commercials.
